Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at around 19:00hrs on Wednesday, 28 January, in Essex Road, Islington. Officers attended with paramedics and a 25-year-old man was treated for stab wounds. His injuries were believed to be potentially life threatening or life-changing. He was taken to hospital, where he remains. Detectives are investigating reports that the victim was stabbed during an attempted robbery of his bicycle and phone.
EAST PALO ALTO - A Peninsula man was arrested in connection with a robbery in East Palo Alto and an attempted robbery in Palo Alto on Sunday, according to authorities. The robbery happened at Jack Farrell Park in East Palo Alto and the attempted robbery happened near the intersection of Lytton Avenue and Webster Street in Palo Alto, the East Palo Alto and Palo Alto police departments said in a joint news release. Both incidents were reported around 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
The incident occurred in August 2024, after the victim arranged to pay $600 to a woman he met on a website that promises to link "sugar babies" and "sugar daddies," according to police. Instead, when the man arrived at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Union City and attempted to bring the woman up to his room, she pulled a gun on him, according to police.
