WindsorNew Ontario Premier Doug Ford had harsh words for Diageo, parent company of Crown Royal whisky, on Tuesday. Last week the company announced it would be closing its Amherstburg, Ont., bottling plant in the new year, prompting the suggestion that Ontario should pull product from the shelves. At an unrelated announcement in Kitchener, Ford produced a bottle of Crown Royal and dumped it out while lambasting the company's decision.

Donald Trump's tariffs on wine and spirits will reduce Diageo's profits by 173 million euros. The company has raised its estimate of the tariffs' impact.

Debra Crew, the leader of Diageo, has left her position after her tenure saw a 43% drop in the company’s shares. She succeeded in 2023 but faced significant challenges.

Diageo's strong performance in the third quarter was significantly flattered by a number of one-offs, most notably a pull-forward of purchasing in anticipation of tariffs in North America.
