Following his death, hundreds of people who criticized Kirk's ideology have been fired, disciplined or doxxed had their private information posted online to stoke harassment. Other states have seen far more teachers fired or disciplined for Kirk-related comments. When I was a child growing up in the '60s and '70s, watching National Geographic specials on TV, I wanted to be Jane Goodall. Not like her. Her. I could imagine no better life than observing and learning about chimpanzees. But only Jane Goodall could be Jane Goodall, and I eventually fell into a more traditional path, even going to law school.

In every competitive space, some players are ahead of others. That's true for our niche as well. The question is why. Why do some learning and HR tech companies consistently outperform others? The answer may include a bit of luck, but it is mostly strategy, leadership, and explicit use of data. The most successful companies always know how to align their vision with customer needs and market requirements.
she's been doing what she calls "book reporting" them. "We go on a journey together and we decide to research what that means, where it comes from, why it happened, and where it stemmed from," she explains. She then says her sons are already beginning to understand how everything in culture is interconnected and that "Mom, it's not that deep" is actually very rarely true.
In her first "State of Our Schools" address Monday, Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos gave an overview of how the Education Department is meeting families' needs and announced a new accountability tool that breaks down a variety of education initiatives, from the expansion of the NYC Reads curriculum mandate to chronic absenteeism rates per district. The tool is divided into family engagement, teacher support, and student well-being, tracking 37 topics ranging from staff hiring updates and expanding autism programs to increasing voter turnout for the local Community Education Council elections.
"One of my students asked if I knew a song that they had put in their recent 'oldies' playlist. I gave them permission to play it since we were near the end of the period, and everyone was just finishing up their last tasks. I was expecting them to play something by The Beatles or Queen, or whatever else, so I was absolutely stunned when they started playing 'Closer' by The Chainsmokers. Huh?!?" -Ryan, California
State schools in Scotland have been pushed to create toilet policies based on "biological sex", under updated guidance from Holyrood. New recommendations issued by the Scottish government on Monday (29 September) called for all schools to have separate facilities, including toilets and changing rooms, for boys and girls "on the basis of biological sex". For the purposes of the guidance, the term "biological sex" referred to "sex recorded at birth", and schools will also be "required to provide accessible facilities for young people with a disability".

Abundis, a then senior at Aptos high cchool in Santa Cruz county's Pajaro Valley unified school district,

When I was a middle school teacher, I thought the school principal was being unrealistic when he strongly encouraged all of his teachers to spend the month of September and the first weeks of October making short phone calls to their students' homes. "Catch your students doing something good, I don't care what it is, and call their parents and guardians to tell them about it," he said. And no, shooting off a quick email does not count, he also said.

They rely on word-of-mouth and hope their reputation speaks for itself. Meanwhile, those thriving have cracked the code on modern marketing strategies for schools.
A bright new playground has opened at Baoshan No. 2 Central Primary School in Shanghai, where the worlds of LEGO bricks and Nike sportswear collide to reshape how children experience recess. The project grew out of LEGO's "Build the Change" workshop, during which pupils used 2 × 3 LEGO bricks to sketch ideas for a playground that would feel like a giant building set. Those sketches became the blueprint for a vibrant, modular play space that blends sport, imagination and movement.
