Two mountain climbers have died on Aoraki, New Zealand's tallest peak, with two others from the same group rescued, authorities said. The climbers' bodies have been found and specialist searchers were working to recover them in a challenging alpine environment, the police area commander Inspector Vicki Walker said on Tuesday. None of the climbers have been publicly identified. Sgt Kevin McErlain told the Timaru Herald the pair had been connected by a rope when they fell near the summit of Aoraki, also known as Mount Cook.
A man was killed on Wednesday (17 September) on the National Mall in Washington, DC, while unloading a 1979 BMW Art Car that was custom-painted by Andy Warhol. According to the local ABC affiliate , a winch that had been holding the vehicle in place on a flatbed truck came loose and the man was pinned under the car. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene; his identity has not been released.
A 25-year-old man has died after falling from an e-scooter in east London. The Met Police were called to reports of a crash involving an e-scooter in Newham at 6.12pm on Saturday. Officers attended the scene on Prince Regent Lane near the junction with Glen Road with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. The rider - a 25-year-old man - was declared dead at scene after falling from the e-scooter.
