An exercise in reclamation, the ollection by Luca Nichetto for Astep transforms fragments of precious Murano glass into sculptural lighting, elevating what would otherwise be waste back into the realm of high design. The collection reimagines discarded material with a new identity, offering not just a sustainable solution but also an entirely fresh aesthetic. Because of its pigmentation, Murano glass fragments are traditionally considered unrecyclable.

Named 'Beacon', the structure will be placed at the entrance of the Royal Festival Hall and it'll light up when Big Ben strikes the hour. It'll be visible from both sides of the Thames and perform in choreographed waves of light. The installation is by British designer Lee Broom and it is part of the London Design Festival (LDF). This year's edition of LDF will run from September 13-22.

Each Pivoine fixture feels like a piece of sculptural art that happens to provide beautiful light. The hand-formed powder-coated aluminum petals radiate from the center just like a real peony, creating layers of gentle curves that catch and scatter light in constantly changing ways. The Lớp Lamp by Thomas Vincent beckons attention with its design that creates an optical illusion of a floating light source surrounded by layered sheets of colored acrylic.

Tuloa takes a different approach. Its glow is directed inward, reflecting softly within the glass and creating a warm, diffused atmosphere, reminiscent of the delicate shimmer of tulle or the inviting warmth of candlelight.

The Bauhaus Sunset Lamp from Simig Lighting embodies a digitally familiar abstraction of the sun, merging minimalist design with practical illumination to create a perfect optical illusion.

The installation features Japanese furniture brand Ariake and Spanish lighting manufacturer Parachilna, demonstrating how objects transcend their utilitarian origins to shape experiences.

The Ori Floor Lamp was designed from a single sheet of aluminum alloy, folded into shape without any welding or joints, embodying the Japanese concept of 'Ori' or folding.

The Mute Lamp embodies adesign philosophy that prioritizes linear minimalism, stemming from a single, uninterrupted vertical pole that redefines elegance and function.

Nature has always been a treasure trove for designers, a quiet teacher offering lessons in grace, resilience, and balance.

In its raw state, porcelain is unpredictable, and creating precise geometric forms requires a deep knowledge of the material. This experience allowed me to push the boundaries of what was possible while maintaining the integrity of the craftsmanship, which was essential in overcoming any challenges and realizing the design I envisioned.

The lamp body is crafted from reclaimed noble hardwoods, like warm Cabreúva vermelha and striking Peroba Rosa, blending nature and modern design for a personal touch.
