The Federation of Malaysian Business Associations stated that a blanket work-from-home policy could cost the Klang Valley hundreds of millions of ringgit a month, emphasizing that these losses are expected to be 1.9x to 2.9x higher than the projected savings of widespread work-from-home arrangements.

"This has been a long campaign and reaching a deal members could accept reflects the determination of PCS members at ONS, the hard work of their reps and the value of trade unionism."
One year ago, commercial real estate behemoth CBRE acquired Industrious, a flexible office company that opened its first space in 2013 and grew at an impressive pace in the aftermath of the pandemic. At the time, CBRE said in a release that Industrious' success was "the result of an ongoing investment into understanding what makes for a great workplace, paired with continuous operational improvement."
Imagine that you pull up to a skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan. You step out of the car and walk into the lobby, where the staff greets you by name and ushers you to an elevator. Upstairs, another staff member brings you coffee just the way you like it, minutes after you arrive. A barber is on hand to give you a fresh shave before an important Zoom call, and afterwards, you drop by a caviar tasting that's happening in the shared lounge.
In the past week, automaker Stellantis and retailer Home Depot became the latest major companies to call employees back to the office five days a week. They join employers like Instagram, Paramount and Amazon in recent return-to-office mandates. About one-third of all U.S. firms (34%) are requiring workers to be in the office full time, according to workforce insight provider Flex Index.
