We believe an open market serves consumers the best. Sellers should have the opportunity to reach the broadest pool of potential buyers if they choose to do so, because broad exposure generally benefits the homeowner. The company's digital listings, combined with its innovative "Zestimate"-an estimate of a home's value, based on the kind of data typically only available to real estate professionals-marked a turning point for the housing market. But despite constant platform changes, algorithm updates and new tools, the agents and businesses seeing real growth aren't chasing shortcuts. They're building trust through each connection, which leads to scale.
Originally filed as two separate lawsuits in late September 2025 before being consolidated in late November, the lawsuit claims that the multifamily rental syndication deal executed by Zillow and Redfin was tantamount to Zillow simply paying Redfin $100 million in exchange for it no longer competing in the multifamily rental listing space. The defendants filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in mid-January. A hearing on this motion is scheduled for Feb. 25.
