A state judge has ruled that every red-light ticket written to a cyclist under the state's vehicle and traffic law since 2019 is bogus. The city legalized the practice of biking through a red light on a pedestrian 'walk' signal, yet NYPD cops have been wrongly writing tickets for cyclists who go through the 'red' on the walk signal.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Police are searching for a suspect who shot a 27-year-old man during a street encounter late Wednesday night in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, according to an NYPD Crime Stoppers alert. Authorities said the attack occurred around 9:54 p.m. at the intersection of Sackett Street and 3rd Avenue. The victim was reportedly approached by an unidentified man who began talking with him before pulling out a gun and firing, striking the victim in the right leg.
Three men were hit by bullets, including a 30-year-old victim who'd been shot in the head, and a fourth man was stabbed in the armpit during three separate nightclub attacks in Brooklyn and the Bronx within three hours early Saturday, police said. The bloodshed began at around 1:45 a.m. when a fight broke out inside Tulum Brooklyn, a late-night restaurant and lounge on Broadway near Hart St. in Bedford Stuyvesant.
