Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang forecast that capital expenditure (CapEx) on datacentres would increase from the $300-400bn mark today to $3-4tn by 2030, effectively claiming datacentre spending would increase tenfold during this period.
That disconnect was flagged in an 8-week Deloitte review of Whole Foods' use of Microsoft 365 apps earlier this year, according to an internal document obtained by Business Insider. Deloitte found that Whole Foods relies on "fragmented" Microsoft toolsets, has loose security and data-retention practices, and employs a complex user-management setup - all of which contribute to inefficiencies and lower productivity when working with Amazon employees.
The increases, which will affect the company's commercial, frontline worker, and government customers, take effect from July 1, 2026, and range from a slight bump to an eye-watering hike. According to Microsoft, the rises (or "updates" in Micro-speak) are driven by expanded security, management, and AI capabilities. Microsoft said, "Organizations face an increasingly complex threat landscape, rising IT demands, and the urgent need for AI-powered transformation. Microsoft plans to enhance its M365 productivity suite with "Agentic Users," autonomous AI agents with their own identities and access to enterprise IT systems that can collaborate with one another and with humans. The tech giant's Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) seized 338 domains linked to RaccoonO365, which form the backbone of its phishing as a service (PhaaS) offering used in thousands of attacks worldwide.
Healthcare organizations are increasingly being targeted in email attacks, research shows, and Microsoft 365 is often the weakest link. Microsoft is introducing new limits for onmicrosoft.com domains. Organizations can now send a maximum of 100 external emails per day via these standard domains to prevent spam. The new measure limits messages from onmicrosoft.com domains to 100 external recipients within 24 hours. Previously, there were no limits for Microsoft Online Email Routing Address (MOERA) domains. Microsoft is responding to an ongoing issue within Microsoft 365. Spammers are abusing new tenants to send large amounts of unwanted emails before Microsoft can intervene.
